The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has announced the housing sales for November, revealing that 8,583 properties were sold in İzmir, making it one of the cities with the highest number of housing sales.

According to the housing sales statistics for November 2024, Turkey's overall housing sales increased by 63.6% compared to the same month last year, reaching 153,014. The cities with the highest number of housing sales were Istanbul with 26,320, Ankara with 14,916, and İzmir with 8,583. The cities with the least housing sales were Bayburt (89), Tunceli (99), and Hakkari (121). Housing sales from January to November 2024 increased by 16.4% compared to the previous year, reaching 1,265,388 units.

Mortgage Housing Sales
In November, mortgage housing sales in Turkey increased by 315.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching 21,804 units. The share of mortgage sales in total housing sales was 14.2%. From January to November, mortgage housing sales decreased by 21.3% compared to the previous year, totaling 135,209 units. In November, 5,213 mortgage housing sales were made, while 32,082 mortgage sales were made as first-hand in the January-November period.

Other Housing Sales
Other housing sales increased by 48.6% in November, reaching 131,210 units, and made up 85.8% of total housing sales. From January to November, other housing sales increased by 23.4% compared to the previous year, reaching 1,130,179 units.

First-Hand and Second-Hand Housing Sales
In November, first-hand housing sales increased by 61.7%, reaching 49,274 units, making up 32.2% of total sales. From January to November, first-hand housing sales increased by 24.2%, totaling 407,832 units. Second-hand housing sales increased by 64.6% in November, reaching 103,740 units, and made up 67.8% of total sales. From January to November, second-hand housing sales increased by 13% compared to the previous year, totaling 857,556 units.

Foreign Housing Sales
Foreign housing sales decreased by 8.2% in November compared to the same month last year, reaching 2,151 units. The share of foreign sales in total housing sales was 1.4%. The cities with the highest number of housing sales to foreigners were Istanbul (780), Antalya (752), and Mersin (191). From January to November, foreign housing sales decreased by 35.1% compared to the previous year, totaling 21,363 units. In November, the most housing sales were made to citizens of Russia (421), Iran (200), and Ukraine (160).
